About Me

Hello! My name is Shelby and I am currently a Master's candidate in school counseling at the George Washington University in Washington, DC (Foggy Bottom Campus). I hail originally from Northern Massachusetts and attended college at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD where I studied music and history. While I loved my thesis on the cultural implications on orchestras during WWII, I realized I wasn't ready for my PhD in history. What I did love, though, was working as an internship assistant at the Johns Hopkins Career Center, so I decided to pursue counseling!

Along with working on my Master's, I am currently an intern at the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) in Alexandria, Va. Working with ASCA has been an amazing experience. I have been exposed to so many new resources that I hope to share some of here, as well as getting involved in education policy on the hill, working with school counselors around the country, and more!

I know that sometimes finding resources that you actually like is hard to do. This blog is aimed at school counselors in graduate school who need resources for their internships, as well as school counselors in the field who just might not have heard of some of these things before! Also, it's just a nice way for me to keep track of all the things I like to use!

I hope you enjoy, and if you have any questions, please contact me at sstrong6887@gmail.com.
